BREAKOUT Q&A SUBMISSIONS
CHOOSING PROJECTS
How do you start finding projects? Where do you begin your search? | Needs look different in every community. Meeting with key leaders in your city (Mayor, Superintendent, Fire/Police Chief, etc) to collect information on the greatest needs will help to identify and narrow down a place to focus initial outreach opportunities. |
MISSION TRIPS
Many people who want to go on a missions trip cannot afford it. Are there grants or funds or any way to help pay for those who want to go? | Mission trip participants are expected and encouraged to fundraise for the cost of their trip. We believe this is an integral part of preparation. We want to encourage them to believe God for their finances! If God has called them to go on this trip, He will provide the finances to get them there. |
MEASURING
Did you say the volunteer hours are tax deductible? What is the purpose we measure the value? | Volunteer hours are not tax-deductible. We report the value of hours worked just to show the overall impact the volunteers are making. |
SERVE TEAM
How can I apply these things to my student ministry, separate of our missions team? | Occasionally students will participate in outreach that we already have going. |
What is the best way to recruiting volunteers for serve events during work hours? | In our Serve Team 201, we ask those interested in outreach if they are available during the week. We use that information to recruit for those specific opportunities. |
STAFF STRUCTURE
What does your outreach team structure look like? |
